What therapy looks like in Spain

Private vs public

Spain's public mental health system is stretched, and English availability is limited. Most expats choose private therapy. Expect to pay 50 EUR to 100 EUR per 50-minute session.

Verify credentials

A licensed psychologist in Spain is colegiado/a with their regional college (e.g. COP-CV in Valencia). Ask for the registration number if it is not listed on their website.

Confidentiality

Spanish law treats therapy sessions as strictly confidential. Your private therapist is not connected to immigration, visa, or employer records.
