What Innsomnia is and isn't
Innsomnia Business Accelerator describes itself as a strategic innovation consultancy and open-innovation hub that solves technology challenges for corporates.[13] Its own site states that Innsomnia has more than 8 years of open-innovation experience, has worked on challenges for more than 40 companies and institutions, operates across 9 verticals, and runs 4 offices in Valencia, Madrid, Los Angeles and Miami.[13]
Startup Valencia, announcing Innsomnia as a strategic technological partner, reports that Innsomnia is headquartered in La Marina de Valencia in a 4,000-square-metre hub occupying the former Team Germany America's Cup base, and that it hosts more than 50 startups and companies including Telefonica Tech and Siemens Mobility.[14]
The European Digital Innovation Hubs catalogue reinforces that positioning. It describes Innsomnia (listed as Insomnia Digital Innovation Hub) as a Business Accelerator, Incubator and Digital Hub in Valencia, with a collaborative space of more than 4,000 m2, working on ICT uptake, access to finance, worldwide scouting and training.[15]
Why an international founder should care
Innsomnia is most useful to founders and professionals operating in a specific corporate-innovation vertical: fintech, insurtech, smartports, agrotech, health, industry 4.0, cybersecurity, art-tech, presstech, AI, IoT, cloud, robotics or blockchain.[13] [15] If your value proposition doesn't map to one of those, Innsomnia is probably not the right door - that's a feature, not a bug.
Don't read Innsomnia as a generic incubator. It's a corporate open-innovation hub: most of its activity is structured around programmes co-run with large corporates and institutions (Santander X 100, Agrobank Tech Digital Innovation, smartports challenges, etc.). Apply when there's a live call that matches your sector, not on speculation.[13] [14]
There's no public evidence of a French-speaking team or French-alumni community. A 2019 Tech Summit at Innsomnia included visiting European accelerators such as Startup Palace and Le B612 from France, but that's an event-level link, not a current alumni claim.[16] Treat Innsomnia like a corporate environment: working language is Spanish and English depending on the programme partner.
How to engage
Innsomnia doesn't have a single universal application form. The right move depends on whether you're a founder, a corporate, or a professional looking for sector exposure.
- 1
Identify your vertical
Map your product against Innsomnia's 9 verticals: fintech, insurtech, smartports, agrotech, health, industry 4.0, cybersecurity, art-tech, presstech, AI, IoT, cloud, robotics, blockchain.[13] [15] If you don't fit one, Innsomnia probably isn't the right fit and a different Marina or Startup Valencia partner will serve you better.
- 2
Track current open calls
The most up-to-date list of programmes is on the official Innsomnia site.[13] Innsomnia runs corporate-innovation challenges in cycles, often with named partners. Subscribe to their newsletter and check the EDIH catalogue listing as a cross-reference for which programmes are active.[15]
- 3
Match the entry mode
Most pathways are programme-by-programme rather than a single accelerator funnel. A startup applies to a specific corporate challenge; a corporate engages Innsomnia for an innovation track; a professional can attend events, training and meetups at the 4,000 m2 hub.[13] [14]
- 4
Show up at La Marina
Innsomnia hosts technological events and is one of the most active event venues at Marina de Valencia.[14] If you're considering the Valencia move, attending an event in person tells you more about the sector activity than any pitch deck. Combine with a Marina de Empresas visit to read the whole waterfront.
Address and access
Innsomnia is headquartered in the former Team Germany America's Cup base at La Marina de Valencia.[14] The hub spans roughly 4,000 m2 on the same waterfront as Marina de Empresas and Lanzadera, easily reachable on foot from El Grau and Cabanyal. Check EMT bus and Metrovalencia routes for current schedules.

What to verify before getting involved
Innsomnia is a moving target by design - corporate challenges open and close throughout the year. Before committing time or pitch resources, verify the points below directly with Innsomnia.
- Which open calls are live in your vertical today, since the official site is the single source of truth and reads change monthly.[13]
- Working language of the programme you're considering - some Spanish, some English, depends on the corporate partner.[13] [14]
- Whether the programme is a corporate challenge (apply against a specific brief) or a longer accelerator track (apply against general criteria).[13] [15]
- Whether your IP, data and customer-relationship terms work with the corporate partner involved - a Telefonica Tech or Siemens Mobility-anchored programme has different contracting expectations than an SME-focused one.[14]
Mike's insight
[MIKE TO SEED] For French and international B2B or fintech founders, when is a corporate innovation challenge actually useful, and when is it a distraction from sales?
Pick the right Innsomnia programme
Innsomnia's value depends entirely on matching your vertical to a live corporate call. A 30-minute consultation helps you decide whether to apply, attend, or skip in favour of a different Marina door.
