Concert Hall

Palau de la Musica de Valencia

Valencia's flagship concert hall, set among the Turia gardens and famous for its acoustics.

The Palau de la Musica is Valencia's main concert hall and the home of the city's symphony orchestra. Wrapped in a glass dome that overlooks the Turia riverbed gardens, it has been the heart of the city's classical music life since it opened in 1987.

The essentials

Address

Passeig de l'Albereda 30, 46023 Valencia

Type & programming

Symphonic and classical music, opera in concert version, recitals and chamber music, with occasional jazz and crossover programming.

About the venue

Designed by architect Jose Maria Garcia de Paredes and opened in 1987, the Palau quickly earned a reputation for the acoustics of its main hall, the Sala Iturbi, which has a long reverberation prized for symphonic repertoire.

It is the resident home of the Orquesta de Valencia, the city's symphony orchestra, and hosts visiting orchestras, soloists and conductors throughout the season. The glass-and-steel building, reflected in the surrounding ponds, is a landmark of the Turia gardens in its own right.

Programming leans heavily classical, so it suits anyone who wants to hear an orchestra in a serious acoustic setting. The two halls mean you can find both grand symphonic nights and smaller chamber recitals on the calendar.

Tips for your visit

The box office is at the venue, but most people buy online in advance; popular concerts sell out. Arrive early to enjoy the gardens and the foyer before the doors close.

The building is step-free and accessible, with dedicated wheelchair spaces in the Sala Iturbi. Check the official site for the exact seating plan when you book.

Afterwards, the Alameda and Pla del Real areas have plenty of bars and restaurants for a post-concert drink, and the metro at Alameda gets you back across the city quickly.

What's on now

The Palau publishes its full season and individual concert tickets on its official website. Check there for current programming, dates and prices.
