Benimamet
By far the largest Pobles de l'Oest barrio - a town in its own right with two metro stops
Living in Benimamet
Benimamet is by far the largest barrio in District 18 Pobles de l'Oest with around 10,000 residents, which makes it a town in its own right rather than a true village. It sits about 5 km northwest of Valencia centre on the metro line 1 corridor and has two stations on the network: Benimamet and Empalme. The barrio has its own commercial core - bars, restaurants, supermarkets, gyms and a Sunday market - and a working-village atmosphere that has resisted being absorbed into the central Valencia urban fabric.
Housing is a mix of older village houses around the parish core, large 1970s and 1980s blocks along the metro corridor, and post-2000 mid-rise on the western edge. Rents sit clearly below central Valencia but above the deeper Pobles del Nord and Pobles del Sud barrios. Benimamet is the practical choice when buyers and renters want sub-town character and connectivity without paying central prices.
