Living in Pobles de l'Oest
Pobles de l'Oest is district 18 and the smallest of the three Pobles districts, holding just two barrios. It sits north-west of the city, wedged between Burjassot, Paterna and the Campanar expansion.
It is the only Pobles district with a full metro service. Lines 1 and 2 call at both Benimamet and Beniferri, and tram line 4 adds a second option at Benimamet, putting the centre around 15 minutes away.
The two barrios read very differently. Benimamet kept a proper village core with a plaza, a market and its own fiestas. Beniferri is largely late-1990s planned build wrapped around the Fira de Valencia and the northern edge of Nuevo Centro.
Village prices with metro access is what makes this district worth a look. The honest limitation is that Benimamet's older stock often lacks a lift, and Beniferri has very little street life of its own once the trade fair closes.
