Basketball in Valencia runs on two levels. One is the game you can join this week: a municipal court, a club, a league. The other is the professional one, Valencia Basket at the Roig Arena, with its own training centre, L'Alqueria del Basket.
This guide starts with playing, because that is where most people begin, then moves on to match tickets, camps and academies, official merchandise and team trips. Where we could not confirm a detail from an official source, we say so instead of guessing.
Where to play basketball in Valencia: court rental and bookings
The city's municipal sports centres are the most reliable place to rent a basketball court in Valencia. They are run by the Fundación Deportiva Municipal, and the city's sports facilities regulation sets how they are booked and used. The list of municipal sports centres shows which ones have an indoor pavilion.
The municipal price schedule covers a basketball court tariff. Booking in person means paying when you reserve, and subscribers and annual pass holders can also book by phone. We could not verify an online booking page for private indoor basketball court hire, so ask the centre directly about availability, hourly rates and whether the price is per person or for the whole court.
L'Alqueria del Basket is Valencia Basket's own training centre, and it is not a public drop-in venue. If you want to use its courts for a team stage, ask through the official L'Alqueria site and do not assume a booking is possible until they confirm it.
Pickup basketball games and open gyms in Valencia
There are public outdoor courts around the city and in parks, and the Turia gardens are the first place people mention for casual games. A public court is not the same as a regular, organised game, though. We have not verified a recurring pickup game or open gym that welcomes newcomers, so we do not name one.
To find a game, ask at the municipal sports centre nearest you, check a local basketball meetup group's own page for its current schedule, and turn up early the first time. Confirm with the organiser the level, the language they use and whether there is a fee before you commit.
How to join a basketball club, adult league or 3x3 tournament in Valencia
There are three routes into organised basketball here, and they work differently.
Casual games
No registration. You turn up, play and go home, which suits your first weeks in the city.
Recreational league
Usually asks a team or an individual to sign up for a season of games.
Federated club
Registers its players with the Valencian federation, the FBCV, which issues the licences and publishes the competitions.
For the 2026-2027 season the federation publishes team registration dates by category, and its 2025/2026 fee table listed a licence cost of EUR 20 for new players only. Check the current table before you budget. Clubs also need the federation's consent to play friendly matches.
For amateur tryouts, contact the clubs directly, since each sets its own dates. We could not verify a current open 3x3 tournament sign-up, so look at the federation's competitions page and the clubs' own announcements.
How much does it cost to play basketball in Valencia?
We can give you the costs we could confirm, and flag the ones we could not.
Municipal court hire follows the city's public price schedule. We do not quote an hourly figure, because the document is a regulation and may not match today's rate.
A new federated player's licence was EUR 20 in the 2025/2026 table. Club membership and league fees vary by club, so ask each one what is included. Prices checked on 28 October 2026.
Valencia Basket tickets: EuroLeague nights at the Roig Arena
Valencia Basket plays its home games at the Roig Arena, and the club sells tickets online through its own site. Tickets for games are released in batches, so look at the club's calendar for the fixtures and the ticket page for what is on sale.
When we checked, the men's season tickets were sold out, so single-match tickets are the way in for most visitors. Members and Amics Taronja get discounts on single tickets, and the club has offered a discount for buying a two-game pack. The offers change, so confirm them on the club's site.
For VIP seats, the club has a hospitality page for the Roig Arena, with seats for specific games. We could not verify an away-fan ticket registration procedure, so for that ask the club's ticket office through its site. Our Roig Arena story covers the building, and where to watch sports in Valencia covers other venues.

Official Valencia Basket merchandise and international shipping
The safest place to buy an official jersey or training kit is the club's own shop, reached from the official Valencia Basket site. We could not verify the store's current shipping destinations, delivery times or return policy, so read those on the shop page before you order from outside Spain.
Check the size chart and the season of the kit, since the club changes its design each year. On a visit, the stands at the arena are another option.
Basketball camps, academies and training clinics at L'Alqueria
L'Alqueria del Basket runs the club's youth programmes. Its news page has listed a summer school of one-week sessions from late June to mid-July for younger children, a residential summer camp in July and a year-round 3x3 academy. The camp was listed at EUR 440 full board and the summer school at EUR 185 a week, in editions published for 2026 and earlier.
Those are past editions, so check the official site for current dates, ages and prices before you plan around them. We could not verify tryout rules for international players, a residential academy price or an English-language programme, so do not assume any of them.
The club also offers a tour of L'Alqueria. For one-to-one coaching or a clinic, ask a club or provider directly and ask who the coach is and what the session costs.
Plan a basketball trip or team training camp in Valencia
A visiting club, school or group usually needs the same things: court time, coached sessions, a friendly game, accommodation and transport. Valencia Move helps groups plan trips to Valencia, and you can send an enquiry for a basketball trip through our basketball group page.
Tell us the dates, group size, playing level, goals and any accommodation or transport needs. Court availability at L'Alqueria or any other venue is not part of a package until it is confirmed with the venue.
