Living in Favara

Favara () is a small barrio at the southern end of the Patraix district, roughly a triangle. Carrer de Campos Crespo separates it from Safranar to the north-west, Avinguda de Gaspar Aguilar from L'Hort de Senabre, in the Jes煤s district, to the east, and the Ronda Sud from Cam铆 Reial to the south.

The name is the same in Castilian and Valencian. It comes from the S茅quia de Favara, one of the eight historic irrigation channels of the Horta under the Tribunal de les Aig眉es, which crossed the west of the barrio along today's Carrer del Pintor Agrasot. The Diccionari Catal脿-Valenci脿-Balear traces the word to the Arabic faww膩ra, "spring" or "fountain".

Its biggest building is the Hospital Universitari Doctor Peset, one of the city's main public hospitals. Streets such as Ram贸n de Perell贸s and Folch de Cardona keep rows of two-storey houses, and an Iberdrola electricity substation sits in the middle of the barrio; residents have campaigned for years to have it moved out of the city.

According to the Ajuntament's municipal register, 3,741 people lived in Favara on 1 January 2025, on 28.0 hectares, one of the smallest populations of any barrio inside the ring road.

Transport and trade-offs: Patraix station, on metro lines 1, 2 and 7, is close to its northern tip and Safranar station is a short walk west. The hospital brings traffic and the Ronda Sud is noisy, and there are few shops beyond the everyday. For a livelier centre, Patraix is just north, and Safranar has newer flats.

What rent costs in Favara (September 2026)

Favara asks 12 EUR per m虏 a month on Fotocasa's rent index for September 2026, below the 18 EUR the city of Valencia averages. At that rate a 70 m虏 two-bedroom lists at around 840 EUR a month, before you negotiate. These are asking prices on new listings, not what sitting tenants pay.

Asking prices here are 1.8% above a year earlier, against 7% for the city as a whole.

This is the figure for the barrio itself. The Patraix district it belongs to reads 15 EUR on the same index.

Favara mixes two-storey houses with mid-rise blocks, so the figure above is a fair guide for flats; houses rarely come up for rent.

Our renting guide explains what landlords ask for and what the fianza and agency fee add on signing day, and the upfront cost calculator runs the maths for any rent.

The Conselleria's school guide doesn't allow direct links to an individual school's page, so each card below gives you the school's official code instead. Open the guide, paste the code into the search box and the school's page comes up. Like many Spanish public administration websites, it takes a little patience.
