Paterna
The closest metro-belt town, urban and well connected
Living in Paterna
Paterna is the metro belt's closest and best-connected town, just northwest of Valencia and served by Metro Lines 1 and 2. It blends a busy town centre with major employers: the Parque Tecnologico and the Fuente del Jarro estate make it one of the region's biggest job hubs.
The municipality is varied. Around the centre you get genuinely urban living at below-city rents, while leafy residential pockets such as La Canada, Mas Camarena, Terramelar and Lloma Llarga offer villas and family homes. The Corda fire festival each August is pure local tradition.
Paterna will not feel as polished as the gated towns further out, and parts are industrial. But for people who want short commutes, real value and a foot in both city and suburb, it is the practical choice.
