Living in Camí de Vera, Valencia: a neighborhood guide
Benimaclet's northern barrio, where blocks give way to the orchards of the Horta
Living in Camí de Vera
Camí de Vera () is the second barrio of the Benimaclet district, in the north-east of Valencia. Its Valencian name is the official one; in Castilian it is Camino de Vera. It runs from the Benimaclet blocks north to the municipal boundary with Alboraia, with the V-21 motorway on its eastern side.
The barrio takes its name from the Camí de Vera, the old road that linked the village of Benimaclet with the partida, or farming district, of Vera in the Horta. That partida is in turn named after the Séquia de Vera, a branch of the Rascanya irrigation channel. We found no reliable source for what the word Vera itself means, so we do not guess.
According to the Ajuntament's municipal register, 5,326 people lived in Camí de Vera on 1 January 2025, on 82.7 hectares, a large area because much of it is still farmland. Old farmhouses stand on Carrer de la Murta, and the Benimaclet cemetery is inside the barrio.
Transport and trade-offs: Machado station, on metro lines 3 and 9, serves the north-west, and the Vicent Zaragozà and Universitat Politècnica tram stops, on lines 4 and 6, are just to the south. The UPV campus is a short walk away, so many tenants are students. Away from the main streets, shops thin out. The village centre of Benimaclet is next door for bars and the Thursday market.

What rent costs in Camí de Vera (September 2026)
Camí de Vera asks 13 EUR per m² a month on Fotocasa's rent index for September 2026, below the 18 EUR the city of Valencia averages. At that rate a 70 m² two-bedroom lists at around 910 EUR a month, before you negotiate. These are asking prices on new listings, not what sitting tenants pay.
Asking prices here have barely moved in a year (0.2%), against 7% for the city as a whole.
This is the figure for the barrio itself. The Benimaclet district it belongs to reads 15 EUR on the same index.
Camí de Vera mixes new blocks with orchard land and old farmhouses, so the figure above averages very different homes.
Our renting guide explains what landlords ask for and what the fianza and agency fee add on signing day, and the upfront cost calculator runs the maths for any rent.
Public and concertado schools in this neighbourhood
The Conselleria's school guide doesn't allow direct links to an individual school's page, so each card below gives you the school's official code instead. Open the guide, paste the code into the search box and the school's page comes up. Like many Spanish public administration websites, it takes a little patience.
