Valencia Marathon group trips for running clubs

For clubs and running groups heading to the Valencia Marathon or Half Marathon. Tell us about your group and we will talk it through.

Racing in Valencia as a group

The Valencia Marathon and Half Marathon draw runners from all over the world, and many travel with their club. Entry is by ballot, so each runner secures their own place, and the rest of the trip is planned around it.

If your club is considering Valencia, tell us what you have in mind.

Valencia Marathon and Half Marathon dates for 2026

The Valencia Half Marathon runs on Sunday 25 October 2026 from Avinguda dels Tarongers, beside the Universitat Polit猫cnica, according to the city's municipal sports foundation. The Valencia Marathon follows on Sunday 6 December 2026, starting at 08:15 from the Pla莽a de la Marat贸 and finishing on the walkway over the water at the City of Arts and Sciences.

The foundation describes the marathon course as completely flat and at sea level, and gives 12 to 17 degrees as the typical race-morning temperature. That combination is what draws runners chasing a personal best.

How the race ballot works for a running club

Both races allocate bibs by ballot. For the 2026 marathon, runners from the 2025 race had a preferential window from 11 to 15 December, the ballot opened on 16 December and the draw was held before a notary on 12 January. The half marathon ran the same system a few weeks earlier, between 4 and 14 November.

The organisers let runners enter the ballot in groups of up to three. A whole club cannot enter as one block, so each runner applies, and the trip is planned around who draws a place. For the 2026 race, bib transfers opened on 1 February, which can help a club fill a gap.

What a running club trip to Valencia usually includes

A club programme is built around race weekend: arrival by Friday to collect bibs at the runners' fair, a shake-out run in the Turia gardens on Saturday, the race on Sunday and a team meal afterwards. Some clubs add a recovery day at the beach or in the old town.

Race weekend fills the city's hotels early, so the sooner you know your numbers, the more options you keep. Our Valencia Marathon guide covers the course and race week in detail.
