Triathlon trips to Valencia for clubs

For triathlon clubs and squads planning a race weekend or a training camp in Valencia. Tell us about your athletes and we will talk it through.

Triathlon in Valencia as a club

Valencia gives a triathlon squad all three disciplines close together: open-water swimming off the city beaches, flat roads out into the huerta, and the Turia gardens for running.

Tell us whether your club is coming to race, to train or both.

Racing in Valencia: the MTRI València triathlon

The city's main age-group race is the MTRI València, part of the Mediterránea Triatlón series, held on the Malva-rosa beach. The 2026 edition ran on 27 and 28 June, with sprint races and a family duathlon on the Saturday and the Olympic and supersprint distances on the Sunday.

For clubs, the race awards trophies to the top three men's and women's clubs in each distance, and several distances can be raced in pairs. Entries for 2026 closed when the race filled, so a club aiming for next year should watch for registration early.

Elite triathlon in Valencia

Valencia has a long record of international triathlon. The regional federation notes that the city hosted a European Championship in 2004, and La Marina de València staged the World Triathlon Cup for the third year running in 2023.

The federation's calendar is the place to check the season's races, since dates and venues change from year to year.

Triathlon training camps in Valencia

A training camp in Valencia usually means sea swims off the city beaches, rides out through the flat huerta or north towards the hills, and runs in the Turia gardens. Spring and autumn give the most comfortable temperatures for long sessions.

Bikes are the main logistics question. Metrovalencia carries no more than four full-size bikes per train, on surface sections only, so a club usually needs its own transport for the bikes.
