For sailing clubs, schools and companies who want time on the water in Valencia, from a regatta day to several days at sea. Tell us about your group.

Sailing in Valencia as a group

Valencia hosted the 32nd America's Cup in 2007, and the Real Club Náutico de Valencia, founded in 1903, housed several of the teams' bases. The club sits beside the mouth of the new Turia channel, ten minutes from the city centre.

A team-building regatta in Valencia

The Real Club Náutico de Valencia's sailing school runs a team-building regatta for groups of ten or more, from age seven, with no sailing experience needed. Participants are split into crews, each with a professional skipper or instructor on board, and race each other over half a day.

The school recommends sailing between 10:00 and 18:00 because of the prevailing winds, and agrees the date with each group.

Sailing clubs and regattas in Valencia

The club organises the Trofeo S.M. La Reina, an international cruiser regatta it describes as one of the most important in the Mediterranean, alongside winter series and dinghy events. It says it grew to 1,206 berths when it expanded in 1992.

For a sailing club, an event week can be the reason for the trip. For a school group, lessons in dinghies are the usual place to start.

Chartering a boat in Valencia

Groups that want several days at sea usually charter a yacht with a professional skipper. Sailing without one depends on the licences held in the group, the size of the boat and where you plan to sail.
